Texas Award Counselor Application

Counselors for the Texas Award must be approved by the Sam Houston Area Council.   

Sam Houston Area Council volunteers – If you want to register as a Texas Award  Counselor, please complete and submit this form.  This will enable you to be a counselor for Scouts in the Sam Houston Area Council only.  

If you are in a different council, contact your local council directly to inquire about becoming a Texas Award counselor.

Qualifications

List your qualifications for serving as a counselor for the Texas Award which could include, but not limited to, education, professional training in Texas history or culture, pursuit as a hobby, special events in which you have participated, or other relevant experience.

*Are you over 21 years old?
*Date of most recent Youth Protection Training (YPT) taken online at my.scouting.org
*Are you a registered leader with the Sam Houston Area Council, Scouting America?
*If accepted as a counselor, will you abide by the rules and general conduct as prescribed by Scouting America?
